ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT ORDINANCE (CHAPTER 499)

 

Public Inspection of Environmental Impact Assessment Report under Section 7.(1)

An application for approval of environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for Mui Wo Lai Chi Yuen Cemetery Extension has been submitted by Food and Environmental Hygiene Department to the Director of Environmental Protection under section 6.(2) of the EIA Ordinance.

The EIA report prepared by the applicant is now available for the public to inspect under section 7.(1) of the Ordinance from 18 April 2017 to 17 May 2017 at the following locations:

i.           The EIA Ordinance Register Office, Environmental Protection Department, 27th floor, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong (Opening hours: Monday to Friday 0900 to 1700, closed on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays);

 

ii.          Wan Chai Environmental Resource Centre, 221 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong (Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 1000 to 1700, closed on Tuesday and Public Holidays);

 

iii.        Fanling Environmental Resource Centre, 2nd floor, Government Accommodations, Grand Regentville, 9 Wo Mun Street, Luen Wo Hui, Fanling, New Territories (Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 0930 to 1700, closed on Sunday and Public Holidays);

 

iv.        Public Columbaria Project Team Office, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, Room 610, 6/F, Lui Kee Education Services Centre, 269 Queen’s Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong (Opening hours: Monday to Friday 0845 to 1300 and 1400 to 1730, closed on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays);

 

v.         Islands District Office, 20th Floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central, Hong Kong (Opening hours: Monday to Friday 0845 to 1800, closed on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays); and

 

vi.        Mui Wo Public Enquiry Service Centre, G/F Mui Wo Government Offices, 2 Ngan Kwong Wan Road, Mui Wo, Lantau Island (Every Monday, Wednesday & Friday 0900 to 1800, closed on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays)

 

The EIA report will also be uploaded to the EIA Ordinance website (http://www.epd.gov.hk/eia).

The public may seek clarification or assistance in understanding the EIA report from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department at 2350 7375 during office hours (Monday to Friday 0845 to 1730, closed on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays) or the Architectural Services Department at 2867 3721 during office hours (Monday to Friday 0915 to 1800, closed on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays).  The public may forward written comments on the EIA report to the Director of Environmental Protection on environmental issues covered by the Technical Memorandum on EIA Process before the public inspection period expires. The Technical Memorandum can be obtained from the EIA Ordinance Register office or the EIA Ordinance website. The comments from the public may be forwarded to the applicant or any relevant parties in the processing of the application.
