Application for Approval to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

Project Title: Removal of Sediment in Lo Tik Wan, Sok Kwu Wan and Cheung Sha Wan Fish Culture Zones

Conditions of Approval to Apply Directly for an Environmental Permit

(1) The applicant shall implement the mitigation measures described in the Project Profile and comply with the conditions listed below;
(2) The applicant shall submit the details of the temporary relocation sites for the fish rafts to be vacated from the 3 fish culture zones to the Director of Environmental Protection for approval before commencement of works. The information shall include the locations, number and size of rafts, distance from sensitive receivers, flushing capacity, utilization by other recreational purposes, nutrient loading and proposed mitigatory measures;
(3) The applicant shall install silt curtains at the dredging sites, which shall not be more than 100 metres away from dredging operation, throughout the dredging process. Further details on the silt curtains to be used, such as dimensions, exact locations and method of installation, shall be submitted to the Director of Environmental Protection for approval before commencement of works; and
(4) The applicant shall submit details of the environmental monitoring and audit programme for all the dredging sites and relocation sites to the Director of Environmental Protection for approval before application for an Environmental Permit or as part of the application for an Environmental Permit. The information shall include the number and location of the monitoring stations, parameters to be monitored, methodology of taking measurements, monitoring frequency, event/action plan, audit and reporting arrangements.
