Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the Ordinance
for Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit



The submarine cable shall be laid in a trench of 0.25m width to a depth of up to 5m below the seabed for a distance of about 6.5km starting from land to the -20m CD seabed contour; and then in a trench of 0.3m width to a depth of up to 1.5m below the seabed for a distance of about 20km from the -20m CD seabed contour to the HKSAR boundary as described in the Project Profile submitted under the application of 11 August 2000. All measures as described in the said Project Profile shall also be fully implemented.

Note:
Under section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against any of the above conditions within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director's decision.
