Application for Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

 

Project Title: Decommissioning of the Magazine Site at Victoria Road for West Island Line

(Application No. DIR-224/2013)

 

 

Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the Ordinance

for Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

 

 

1.          The Applicant shall ensure that all surplus explosives at the magazine, if any, are removed by Mines Division, Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) from the magazine to a Government Explosives Depot before the commencement of the works.

 

2.          The Applicant shall not carry out the decommissioning works before the "Licence to Possess Category 1 Dangerous Goods" is returned to and accepted by Mines Division, CEDD.

 

3.          All measures described in the Project Profile (PP-479/2013) submitted by the Applicant on 1 February 2013 shall be fully implemented during the decommissioning works.

 

4.          An independent checker (IC) shall be employed to audit the implementation of all mitigation measures recommended in the Project Profile (No. PP-479/2013) and confirm in writing full compliance through monthly audit report to the Director during and upon completion of the decommissioning works.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note

 

Under section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the Applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against the above condition within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director’s decision.
