4. OVERALL CONCLUSIONS

4.1.1 This EIA identified and assessed potential environmental impacts arising from the construction and operational phases of the SWC project. Key environmental issues included air quality, noise, hydrodynamics and water quality, sediment quality, waste management, ecology, fisheries, hazard to life, culture heritage and landscape and visual. Mitigation measures to minimise the potential impacts have been recommended in this EIA. The assessment results indicated that the identified environmental impacts would be within acceptable environmental standards after implementation of mitigation measures, and that residual impacts would be minimal. Environmental monitoring and audit requirements were also specified to ensure that the recommended mitigation measures could be fully implemented during the construction and operational phases of the Project.
