11.1               Introduction

11.1.1         This section presents cultural heritage impact assessment during construction and operation phases of the widening of Tuen Mun Road – Tsing Tin Interchange Project. 

11.2               Environmental Legislation, Policies, Plans, Standards and Criteria

11.2.1         The criteria and guidelines for evaluating cultural heritage impacts are set out in Annex 10 and Annex 19 of the Technical Memorandum on Environmental Impact Assessment Process (EIAO-TM).

 

11.3               Description of the Environment

11.3.1         The proposed works will be undertaken at the northern part of Town Centre Section of TMR near Tuen Mun River Channel.  There are no sites of cultural heritage found within the Project area and in the vicinity of the Project boundary.  

 

11.4               Identification, Prediction and Evaluation of Environmental Impacts 

11.4.1         There are no archaeological resources found within the Project area and in the vicinity of work boundary, therefore, cultural heritage impact is not expected arising from the construction and operation phase of the Project.    

 

11.5               Environmental Monitoring and Audit

11.5.1         Since there is no cultural heritage impact, environmental monitoring and audit is not required.

11.6               Conclusion

11.6.1         There are no archaeological resources identified within and in the vicinity of Project boundary, therefore, cultural heritage impact arising from the construction and operation phase of the Project is not anticipated.
