Facility
which carries out the disposal of chemical waste:
Any person
who wishes to carry out disposal of chemical waste should
apply for a Waste Disposal Licence from the EPD. This requirement
applies to all disposal facilities, including off-site or
in-house disposal facilities, and for any waste treatment,
reprocessing and recycling facilities as well.
EPD shall
grant a waste disposal licence if the waste disposal facility
is capable of disposing of an aggregate of not less than 1000
litres or kilograms of waste per day; or reducing the harmful
impact of chemical waste on the environment by serving as
a facility for the disposal of chemical waste on site where
it is produced and avoiding the movement of chemical waste;
or disposing of chemical waste in any other manner beneficial
to the environment.
How
to apply:
Applications
should be made in the application form (EPD
127) prescribed under the Waste Disposal Ordinance, together
with the following documents:
1. Site
Location Plan of the waste disposal facility;
2. Operational
Plan, which should comprise a detailed description of the
operation of the facility including a layout plan and other
drawings on an appropriate scale showing the key features
of the facility;
3. Resume
of the management staff of the facility; and
4. The
application fee prescribed under the Ordinance (cheque shall
be made payable to the Government of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region). For more information, please refer
