SO2 emissions from vehicles have diminished since the use of ultra-low sulphur diesel (sulphur content below 0.005%) and Euro V diesel (sulphur content below 0.001%) in 2002 and 2007 respectively. Sulphur content of diesel used in industrial and commercial sectors has been further tightened from a maximum 0.5% by weight to the standard of ultra-low sulphur diesel in Oct. 2008.
