Food Waste Reduction Program in Kwun Tong had started in July 2011. Environmental Protection Department collaborated with Kwun Tong District Council, Greeners Action and Sun Hung Kai Properties in the food waste reduction campaign in apm, a composter had installed to process food waste which collected from source separated food waste collected from diners in the mall.

To reduce the food waste and raise awareness on food waste reduction, Greeners Action collaborated with Environmental Protection Department and Sun Hung Kai Properties launched a 2 years food waste reduction program from July, 2011. At the meanwhile, the first "No Leftover" activity was launched in March, 2013 in both Kwun Tong and Tsuen Wan District. The closing ceremony and prize giving of "No Leftover" activity were successfully launched in 18th July.

26 winners of “No Leftover” activity attended the ceremony and shared their valuable experience and tips on food waste reduction in their daily life. "No leftover" activity is the pioneer in environmental program that encourages public to reduce food waste through internet social network.

For the past two years, with the cooperation of apm and participating restaurants, the food waste reduction program was significantly reduced the food waste and raised public awareness about food waste problem. It reduced total 108 tonnes food waste after the program.
