10 & 13.03.2008     Introductory Seminars on Hazardous Chemicals Control Ordinance

The Hazardous Chemicals Control Ordinance(Text Alternative) (HCCO) (Cap 595) was passed by the Legislative Council in July 2007. The Ordinance aims to regulate, through an activity-based permit system, the import, export, manufacture and use of non-pesticide hazardous chemicals that have potentially harmful or adverse effects on human health or the environment, including those regulated by the Stockholm Convention and the Rotterdam Convention. The Ordinance will be effected by phases from 1 April 2008.

To facilitate a better understanding of the HCCO by the concerned trades, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) is organizing two HCCO Introductory Seminars to be held in the Leighton Hill Community Centre, 133 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong on 10 and 13 March 2008 at 2:45 pm to 4:00 pm.  All parties involved in the relevant trades are cordially invited to nominate representatives to attend.  Please refer to the Notice for details of the Introductory Seminar.
