16. Is the Rotterdam Convention applicable to the HKSAR?
The PRC ratified the Rotterdam Convention on March 22, 2005 and the Convention has become applicable to the PRC (not including the HKSAR) since June 20, 2005. At the request of the HKSAR Government, the Central People’s Government made arrangement so that the Convention became applicable to the HKSAR with effect from August 26, 2008.
