Beach Water Quality Forecast

The Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region Government launches the “Beach Water Quality Forecast” to provide daily water quality forecasts, with data updated every morning, for all Gazette Beaches in Hong Kong that are open for swimming. Utilizing statistical and data-driven models, the system can produce near real-time water quality forecast based on the most relevant and the latest environmental and hydrometeorological data, with a view to providing early warnings to bathers on potential short term beach water quality fluctuations, facilitating early planning of their water recreation activities.

Features:
This App provides the following information:
•    Beach Water Quality Forecast Index
•    Warnings related to beach water quality
•    Beach water quality trends in the past 
This App also allows users to create a personalized favourite beach list for quick access to water quality forecasts.

EV-Charging Easy
EV-Charging Easy

"EV-Charging Easy" provides users a convenient way to receive real-time electric vehicle charger availability (“Available” when electric vehicle charger and the concerned parking space are both available) for the electric vehicle charging network opened for public use. 

“EV-Charging Easy” has the following functions:

  • Show real-time EV charger availability
  • Show number of EV chargers at different car parks
  • Show EV charger number and distribution by districts
  • Save a personalized favourite car park list for quick access to chargers’ information

 

The Environmental Protection Department will continue to add public charger information of various organisations and extend the coverage of the app.

Green dollar
GREEN$

GREEN$ Mobile App is developed by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Its primary function is to facilitate the public to participate the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme (ePIS) using smartphone.  Members of the GREEN$ ePIS will earn GREEN$ for redemption of gift items when submitting recyclables at Recycling Stations, Recycling Stores and Recycling Spots for clean recycling.

Waste Less
Waste Less

“Waste Less” is a mobile app developed by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Its primary function is to show nearby recyclable collection points via a map on your device, with details, including photos, address, recyclable types, opening hours, etc.

“Waste Less” provides information of recyclable collection points for waste paper, metals, plastics, glass bottles, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent lamps, clothes, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and BBQ forks.

Besides, “Waste Less” has the following functions:

  • “Search” function to find the most suitable recyclable collection point;
  • “Clean Recycling” coaches and encourages members of the public to practice some simple steps before recycling;
  • “My Recycling Diary” to record their daily recycling efforts;
  • “Knowledge” about good waste reduction and recovery practices;
  • “News” broadcasts news about waste management, reduction and recovery in Hong Kong; and
  • “Share” functions to share the contents of this app.

AQHI
AQHI

Real time broadcasting of the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) reported by the 13 general and 3 roadside air monitoring stations operated by the Environmental Protection Department of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. AQHI is reported on a scale of 1 to 10 and 10+ and grouped into five health risk categories, namely low, moderate, high, very high and serious.

Features:

(A) This App provides the following air quality information -

  • Forecast of health risk of general and roadside monitoring stations
  • AQHI of each general and roadside monitoring station
  • AQHI of each district
  • Air pollutant concentrations of each stations and their past 24 hour trends

(B) It allows users to preset health risk alerts according to their needs in the following ways -

  • By station type
  • By forecast or Current AQHI
  • By monitoring station or by district
  • By health risk level
