Hoarding at West Rail Site Formation Works in Yuen Long

The project involved site formation works carried out at Yuen Long for KCRC West Rail Construction.

Environmental Concern

Dust and mud arising from site formation or transportation of construction materials were the major concern affecting the users of Pat Heung Road and Kam Tin Road.

No hoarding was erected at the site boundary and the public road was very dusty	Vehicle was not washed to remove dusty materials before leaving the construction site	Vehicle washing facilities not provided at a vehicle exit point and dusty deposits were brought to public road.

Measures Adopted

Hoarding - Hoarding along Pat Heung Road and Kam Tin Road was erected.

Treatment - In addition, vehicle-washing facilities were provided at every discernible or designated vehicle exit points.

Observations & Achievements

Through installation of the vehicle washing facilities and erection of handing, the dust level along Pat Heung Road and Kam Tin Road were greatly reduced.
