| Measures
Adopted
Noise
Cover - To minimise noise impact, extensive noise mitigating
measures such as acoustic enclosure, silencers and barriers were employed.
Administration
- To further reduce the noise impact, fewer blowers were operated during
the night-time.
Monitoring
- To ensure that all the measures worked effectively to reduce the noise,
additional monitoring of the works were conducted to keep the site under
close surveillance. |

Observations
& Achievements
Without
any noise abatement measures in place, the noise at the nearest noise
sensitive receives would be 54 dB(A), which exceeded the relevant night-time
noise limit of 50 dB(A). Together with the low-frequency tonal noise from
the powered mechanical equipment perceived on-site, the noise would cause
disturbance to the nearby residents during the night-time. Through adopting
the mitigating measures, the residents in Ma Tau Kok were protected. No
noise complaint was received since the noise mitigating measures were
put in place.
