Installation
of Submarine Water Main at Sham Tseng
The
project involved the installation of submarine water mains running
from Sham Tseng to Ma Wan. These mains supply water to the new developments
in Ma Wan.
Environmental Concern
Since
the construction site was about 80 m away from the nearest noise
sensitive receivers of a large residential development, the Sea
Crest Villa, noise from 2 mud pumps and a desander, was the major
environmental concern.

to reduce the noise impact.
Administration
- Through reducing the operating speed of the mud pumps, the noise
arising from them was further reduced in the early morning and late
afternoon.
