Shan.
Environmental Concern
The
water quality of Tolo Harbour would be seriously affected should
muddy water from the construction site be freely discharged without
treatment. Moreover, high level of suspended solids in the water
body would also affect aquatic lives.

Measures
Adopted
Treatment
- Wastewater generated from the construction site was pumped
to a sedimentation tank for treatment before discharging to
the communal storm drain.
Training
- Internal training was provided to the workers to strengthen
their awareness to avoid polluting the environment.

Observations
& Achievements
Through
proper installation & operation of the wastewater treatment system,
the suspended solids in the wastewater was effectively reduced.
There was also improvement in the site management as well as the
employees' awareness towards environmental protection.
