Chinese New Year Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling Collection Service

In view of the year-end clean-up habit of the public, the EPD organised a Chinese New Year WEEE Recycling Collection Service in January 2017 inviting housing estates / residential buildings to join. To help the housing estates / residential buildings publicise this activity to the residents, EPD will provide posters for publicity and arrange for free collection of computers, WEEE during January 2017 by lorries at the housing estates which had signed up in advance. Serviceable e-waste items will be donated to the needy for reuse after simple checking. Those not suitable for reuse will be properly stored until the commissioning of the WEEE Treatment and Recycling Facility at the EcoPark, Tuen Mun for proper treatment and recycling. Clean Shorelines Poster Competition 2016

Primary and Secondary Students are welcome to participate in Clean Shorelines Poster Competition 2016 organised by the Inter-Department Working Groups on Clean Shorelines.  The competition aims to further promote the message of keeping our shorelines clean in primary and secondary schools. The closing date of this competition is 31 March 2016 (Thursday).  Details of the competition could be found on the Clean Shorelines Website.
 


We can recycle e-waste

To provide a convenient channel for the public to properly handle their e-wastes, from October 2016, the WEEE Treatment and Recycling Facility contractor (ALBA-IWS) will provide e-waste collection through appointment via the hotline (2676 8888). Besides, the e-waste collection vehicle stations in 18 districts at Saturdays and Sundays on a roster basis to collect e-waste from the public. There are also collection station, education and publicity activities to introduce the importance of proper e-waste recycling. Find out more through the above link.

Environmental Exhibition and Resource Centre

The EPD's Environmental Resource Centres at Wan Chai and FanlingLung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre as well as the Mobile Environmental Resource Centre provide easy access of environmental resources materials to the public.
