Removal Service Trial Scheme

To facilitate sellers of regulated electrical equipment to provide the statutory removal service as required under the producer responsibility scheme (PRS) on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) to be implemented, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) and the trade jointly launched the Removal Service Trial Scheme. Eco Expo Asia 2017

The Eco Expo Asia 2017, jointly organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council with co-organization by the Environment Bureau, will be held on 26 to 29 October 2017 at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. Be Our Partner to organise the Shorelines Cleanup Day 2017-2018

The Government’s Inter-departmental Working Group on Clean Shorelines (Working Group) will start a new round of joint cleanup events with schools and community groups from April 2017 to promote the message of keeping the shorelines clean. International Competition on Second Life for Retired Batteries from Electric Vehicles

The International Competition on Second Life for Retired Batteries from Electric Vehicles (the Competition) concluded successfully on June 25, 2017 at the Science Park with the holding of the championship competition-cum-prize award ceremony.  Teams of finalists were commended at the ceremony for their innovative ideas and team spirit.  A list of winners and the abstracts of their entries is available at the Competition website.


We can recycle e-waste

To provide a convenient channel for the public to properly handle their e-wastes, from October 2016, the WEEE Treatment and Recycling Facility contractor (ALBA-IWS) will provide e-waste collection through appointment via the hotline (2676 8888). Besides, the e-waste collection vehicle stations in 18 districts at Saturdays and Sundays on a roster basis to collect e-waste from the public. There are also collection station, education and publicity activities to introduce the importance of proper e-waste recycling. Find out more through the above link.

Environmental Exhibition and Resource Centre

The EPD's Environmental Resource Centres at Wan Chai and FanlingLung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre as well as the Mobile Environmental Resource Centre provide easy access of environmental resources materials to the public.
