XIII – MINIMISING THE IMPACTS OF OUR OPERATIONS

Landfill and Refuse Transfer Stations

•	Full compliance with legal requirements.

•	21 097 environmental monitoring measurements were carried out, of which 21 078 measurements complied with contractual requirements.

XIV – Greener Office

Long term objective (1) :

Demonstrate efficiency and commitment to environmental conservation by reducing expenditure and resources consumption.

ii.	To continue energy saving measures in conjunction with the energy audit.

Measured in terms of power consumption in offices.

Power consumption reduced by 1.7% as compared with 2005.

iii.	To continue energy audits in offices to look for energy saving opportunities.

Measured in terms of number of self-audits conducted in our offices.

•	Appointed Energy Wardens to remind staff of housekeeping measures for saving energy.

•	Self-audits were conducted in EPD offices to identify areas for saving energy.

iv.	To monitor consumption and encourage recycling.

v.	To continue Indoor Air Quality certification work and arrange renewal as necessary.
