Targets in 2007
i. To encourage public participation in waste reduction and recycling.
Measured in terms of number of housing estates joining the Programme on Source Separation of Domestic Waste and promotional activities.

dot By the end of 2007, 766 housing estates / buildings had joined the Programme on Source Separation of Domestic Waste.
dot Waste reduction was adopted as one of the themes of the annual campaigns organised by the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC).
dot Roving exhibitions on waste reduction were organised in 19 tertiary institutes.
dot "I Love Hong Kong! I Love Green!" Campaign was launched to promote a greener lifestyle.
ii. To enhance public awareness of energy conservation and air pollution.

dot A series of APIs was broadcast to promote government initiatives on tackling air pollution.
dot 17 exhibitions on Action Blue Sky were organised to promote energy efficiency and clean air.

i. To continue paper saving initiatives to meet the reduction target (i.e. an average of 2.5% per year with 2002/03 as the base year).
