PARTNERS IN PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Everybody in our community shares responsibility in protecting and sustaining
our environment. To this end, the department forms partnerships with a variety
of industry and trade groups to raise awareness and help them improve their
environmental performance.
We consult concerned groups on waste management and other issues of interest.
We conduct joint pilot trials on new air pollution control and other technology.
We support industry groups with awareness sessions and practical advice.
And we maintain on-going, extensive contacts with individual companies and
trade and industry groups, so we can hear their concerns and help them to
understand our policies.
The ultimate goal of these partnerships is to engage all parties in environmental
protection activities. Partnerships enhance the EPD's efforts to improve
Hong Kong's environment and they will be of growing importance in sustaining
a quality environment in the future. This is also in line with the findings
of the recent
study. |
