The water quality of all 41 gazetted beaches in Hong Kong has now achieved the required standard for bathing waters for four consecutive years since 2010. The Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) has come into operation to replace the old Air Pollution Index. The AQHI is a health-risk based index which communicates the health effects of air pollution to the public in a more effective and timely manner. Starting 15 August 2013, Government will start to accept applications for subsidy for replacement of catalytic converters and oxygen sensors on LPG/Petrol Taxis and LPG Light Buses.
