持久性有機污染物的環境監測及風險評估技術工作坊 Workshop on Environmental Monitoring and Risk Assessment of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) 環保署於2006年11月23至25日在香港歷史博物館舉辦了一個題為「持久性有機污染物的環境監測及風險評估」的技術工作坊，來自內地、澳門特區及香港特區的有關政府官員和專家學者超過130多人出席了會議。與會代表就持久性有機污染物的監測和風險評估方法的協調工作，交換了意見。工作坊所取得的成果為日後有關持久性有機污染物的區域協作奠定了基礎。 The Workshop on Environmental Monitoring and Risk Assessment of POPs was successfully held in the Hong Kong Museum of History on November 23-25, 2006. Over 130 people including government officials, scientists and scholars from the Mainland, Macao SAR and Hong Kong SAR attended the meeting. The participants exchanged views on the harmonization of POPs monitoring approaches and risk assessment methodology. The workshop outcome laid the foundation for future regional collaboration on POPs. |

與業界攜手推動清潔生產 Join Hands with Industries to Promote Cleaner Production 環保署於11月開展了一個「清潔生產技術支援試驗項目」，由香港生產力促進局擔任技術顧問。目的是通過實際案例及技術示範，鼓勵珠三角的製造業實踐清潔生產，從改善操作管理、節能、減少原材料消耗、改良工序等環節，減少生產過程的環境影響。香港的工商企業可以在珠三角的環保工作擔任主導角色，帶頭減排、使用清潔燃料、推動節能和清潔生產，並同時提升港資企業的競爭力。 The EPD commissioned the Hong Kong Productivity Council to launch the Cleaner Production Technical Support Pilot Project in November 2006. The Pilot Project aims to encourage manufacturing industries in the Pearl River Delta to practise cleaner production through case examples and technology demonstration. The measures would cover enhancement of operation management, efficient use of energy and materials and process improvements. |

充電池回收計劃首份周年報告經已出版
First Annual Report of Rechargeable Battery Recycling Programme Published 充電池回收計劃是一項自願性生產者責任計劃。計劃自2005年4月推出以來，進展非常良好。《二零零五至零六年周年報告》總括了計劃首年實施的情況和成績，並淺述未來一年的計劃大綱。 The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Programme is a voluntary producer responsibility scheme and good progress has been made since its launch in April 2005. The 2005/06 Annual Report provides an overview on the implementation and achievements of the programme in its first year of operation. The report also offers a glimpse of the programme plan for the coming year. |

"Action Blue Sky" Programme in 18 Districts 環境保護運動委員會、環保署及大埔環保協進會舉辦「藍天行動」十八區活動，內容包括有攝影比賽、新詩創作比賽及節能行動參與計劃，歡迎市民參加。 (活動詳請及參加表格) The Environmental Campaign Committee, EPD and Tai Po Environmental Association jointly organize "Action Blue Sky" Programme in 18 Districts. 環保署將推行都市固體廢物收費試驗計劃
EPD to launch a municipal solid waste charging trial scheme 環保署於2006年11月於20個屋苑進行為期3個月的「都市固體廢物收費試驗計劃」，研究在實施都市固體廢物按量收費後，於不同類型屋苑的廢物回收和處置運作安排。環保署會舉辦相關的公眾教育活動。欲知詳情，請瀏覽試驗計劃網站。 The EPD has launched a 3-month Municipal Solid Waste Charging Trial Scheme in 20 housing estates in November 2006 to examine the logistical arrangements for waste recovery and disposal in different housing settings for implementing a variable rate charging scheme.
