It is recommended that weekly audits of the waste management practices be carried out during the construction and operation/restoration phases to determine if wastes are being managed in accordance with the recommended good site practices. The audits should examine all aspects of waste management including waste generation, storage, recycling, transport and disposal. Audit of waste management practices during the aftercare phase is not considered necessary given that the amount of waste to be handled is small.
