Project Title: Decommissioning and Disposal of a

Clinical Waste Incinerator at Tang Shiu Kin Hospital

 

Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the EIAO

for Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

 

 

1.          All mitigation measures mentioned in the Project Profile (No. : PP-180/2002) submitted by the project proponent on 10 December 2002 shall be fully implemented.

 

2.          A full containment approach shall be adopted for the incinerator demolition works to avoid the release of contaminated wastes, in particular ash residues, to the environment.

 

3.          All ash and scrabbled materials from the incinerator and flue pipe shall be disposed of at the Chemical Waste Treatment Centre.

 

4.          All detached sections of the incinerator and flue pipe and wastes from the containment approach (e.g. polythene lining of the containment, protection clothing of workers and materials for wet wiping) shall be sealed by polythene sheets and be disposed of at designated landfill sites.

 

 

 

Note

 

Under section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against any of the above conditions within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director¡¦s decision.
