Reasons for Not Giving Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

The application for permission to apply directly for an environmental permit in respect of a Biodiesel Plant at the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate is not granted because there is a need to conduct an EIA study to assess and evaluate various environmental issues and impacts arising from the project, including, among others, air emissions, odour, night-time noise, and the hazard to life.

[Note: Under Section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board, if he is aggrieved by this decision, by lodging notice of appeal in the prescribed manner within 30 days of receipt of the notice of this decision.]
