Application for Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

Project Title: Enhanced Ash Utilisation and Water Management Facilities

at the Castle Peak Power Station (CPPS)

 

Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the EIA Ordinance

for Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

 

 

1.      All measures described in the Project Profile (PP-468/2012) submitted by the Applicant on 22 May 2012 shall be fully implemented.

 

2.      Before the commencement of the decommissioning works of the existing water lagoons nos. 1 and 2, the Applicant shall submit an updated Contamination Assessment Plan (CAP) and a Contamination Assessment Report (CAR).

 

3.      An independent checker shall be employed to audit the implementation of all mitigation measures recommended in the Project Profile and to confirm in writing in the monthly audit report full implementation of the mitigation measures during and upon completion of the decommissioning and construction works.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note

Under Section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against the above conditions within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director’s decision.
