Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the Ordinance
for Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit



1. The Applicant shall submit, prior to or at the same time as the application for Environmental Permit, details of the injection operation including methodology and procedures during cable laying, confirm the spatial extent and the range of settlement of suspended solids, and if necessary, any further measures to avoid the impact on coral communities along the eastern side of the Sokos.

2. The Applicant shall not carry out cable laying work for the initial 500m of cable Segment 3, which starts from the manhole at Tong Fuk public beach, during the bathing season from 1 March to 30 October inclusive.

3. All measures described in the Project Profile submitted with your application of 12 May 2000, together with the above conditions, shall be fully implemented.

Note:
Under section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against any of the above conditions within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director's decision.
