Protect Title: Demonstration Scheme on Reclaimed Water Uses in the North District

 

Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the EIA Ordinance

For Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

 

 

1.                  All measures described in the Project Profile submitted by the Applicant on 28 July 2005 shall be fully implemented.

 

2.                  The reclaimed water from the Project shall meet the requirements set out in Table 2 of the Project Profile.

 

3.                  A comprehensive monitoring programme on the reclaimed water quality to ensure compliance with the requirements set out in the Project Profile shall be implemented throughout operation of the Project.

 

4.                  The applicant shall implement measures to prevent cross contamination with Water Supplies Department’s potable water distribution system to the satisfaction of the Director.

 

5.                  The applicant shall flush and sterilize the plumbing systems of the reclaimed water users to the satisfaction of the Director before reconnecting the same to Water Supplies Department’s potable water distribution system.

 

6.                  The concentrated backwash water generated from the pilot demonstration advanced treatment plant shall be treated at the Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works prior to discharge.

 

Note

Under Section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against any of the above conditions within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director’s decision.
