Application for Permission to Apply Directly for an Environmental Permit

Project Title: Proposed Installation of Integrated Mobile Phone Base Station nearby

Wu Kau Tang Country Trail, Plover Cove Country Park, New Territories

 

Conditions Imposed under Section 5(12) of the EIA Ordinance

For Permission to Apply Directly for Environmental Permit

 

 

1.                  All measures described in the Project Profile submitted with the Application on 11 May 2009 shall be fully implemented.

 

2.                  No haul road or access route shall be constructed for the Project.

 

3.                  Only hand-held equipment shall be used for construction and excavator shall not be used.

 

4.                  The alignment of the cable trench for installation of power and telephone conduits along the Wu Kau Tang Country Trail shall be carefully selected to avoid causing damage to trees and their roots.  Before commencement of works, the applicant shall submit to the Director for approval, a plan with details on alignment of the cable trench and tree protection measures to be provided during construction and operation stages of the Project.

 

5.                  On-site storage and discharge of toxicant, flammable or toxic solvents, petroleum oil or tar and other toxic substances are strictly prohibited.

 

6.                  All exposed steel works including the fencing, if any, shall be subject to anti-corrosion treatment.

 

7.                  All aboveground structures including the equipment shelter and the antenna post shall be painted in subdued colour to match with the surrounding natural setting.

 

Note

Under Section 17 of the EIA Ordinance, the applicant may appeal to the Appeal Board against any of the above conditions within 30 days of the receipt of this notice of the Director’s decision.
