3                          air quality impact

3.1                    Introduction

3.1.1               In accordance with the EIA Report, with recommended mitigation measures properly in place, no adverse air quality is expected during the construction phase of the Project and no air quality monitoring is hence proposed.  However, regular inspections of the construction activities and works areas should be conducted during the construction phase to ensure proper implementation of the recommended mitigation measures.

3.2                    Construction Phase

3.2.1               With the implementation of the proposed dust suppression measures & good site practices, no unacceptable dust impact would be expected at the ASRs.  No air quality monitoring during the construction phase is considered necessary.

3.3                    Operation Phase

3.3.1               With reference to the EIA report, no monitoring and audit for potential air quality impact during the operation phase is considered necessary.

3.4                    Mitigation Measures

3.4.1               The recommended mitigation measures for air quality impacts during construction phase are presented in the Implementation Schedule in Appendix A.  During the site inspections, the Environmental Team (ET) should pay special attention to the issues relating to air quality aspects and check whether the Contractor has implemented the recommended good site practices and other mitigation measures.
