2                     Project Description

2.1                  Site Location and Its Environs

2.1.1.1                  The Project involves the construction of a rooftop helipad at the proposed new block at QMH.  Figure 2.1 shows the site location and its environs. 

2.1.1.2                  The site location was selected with due consideration to the operational requirements and the potential environmental impacts of the helipad development.  The Site, Queen Mary Hospital Complex, is situated west of Lung Fu Shan Country Park and Pok Fu Lam Country Park.  Some residential development and the campus of the University of Hong Kong are located to the west and south-west of the Project, respectively.

2.2                  Development Programme
