Please click here to download the guidelines.

The report should include the following information*:

1.

A description of the noise survey method and the international noise survey standard adopted. (The applicant may refer the latest edition of ISO3746 or any other equivalent international standard.)

2.

A site plan and sectional drawings, both to scale, and photos showing:

a. topographical features (any reflecting surface) surrounding the measurement points and the noise source; and
b. the horizontal and vertical locations of each measurement point, and the noise source.

3.

A description of each of the operation modes of the noise source.

4.

Brand name, model number, serial number, expiry date of last the calibration, response setting, weighting filter setting of sound level meters. (The sound level meters shall comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission Publications 651:1979 (Type 1) and 804:1985 (Type 1). Other noise measuring and analysis instrumentation shall be of a comparable professional quality.)

5.

Brand name, model number, serial number, and expiry date of last the calibration of the calibrator.

6.

Result (in A-weighted equivalent continuous sound pressure level, Leq), time and duration of each noise measurement (a set of noise measurement results shall be obtained when the noise source is off, and for each operation mode of the noise source).

7.

Calibration results before and after the noise measurements.

8.

Weather, date, time, and wind speed at the time of the noise measurement.

9.

A calculation to show the sound power level of the noise source for each operation mode. (The highest sound power level will be adopted by the Authority.)

10.

A description of the types of mitigation measures that have been incorporated in the PME if any.

Note:
* The CNP applicant should note that the required information may vary according to the nature and type of the noise control measures, site locations, etc and is advised to contact the respective officer in EPD to acquire the requirements prior to submitting the application if in doubt.
