ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DEPARTMENT
Part-time Project Officer (Quick Charging Station) [Salary: HK$441 per hour]
Entry Requirements: Applicants should have: –
(a) a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, or engineering, or equivalent;
(b) Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Discipline admitted on or after 5 December 1975, or Professional Membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals Limited (HKIQEP), or equivalent;
(c) Minimum of 20 years of relevant working experience in the planning and management of public works projects.
Duties:
(a) To assist in taking forward the new initiative of converting Petrol Filling Stations (PFS) into Quick Charging Stations (QCS) for electric vehicles and liaise with various government bureaux / departments regarding administrative and technical matters;
(b) To provide support to the Inter-departmental Working Group on Conversion of PFS into QCS;
(c) To consult various stakeholders at project initiation and project implementation stages;
(d) To provide technical support to Lands Department in drafting the land lease for the tendering of sites for use as QCS and estimating the corresponding reserve price;
(e) To assist with consultants selection, management of consultancy agreements and oversee the administration of works contracts for the solar energy projects; and
(f) To attend ad-hoc meetings and answer queries from stakeholders and the general public.
Other Job-related Requirements: (a) The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. The successful candidate may be required to (i) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; and (ii) work outside office including outdoors. (b) The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs but will not exceed 17.5 hours per week. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
Terms of Appointment: The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.
Fringe Benefits: The candidate is not entitled to any fringe benefit normally applicable to a full time staff under the Employment Ordinance (including but not limit to 14-day paid annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity / paternity leave and sickness allowance, etc.), unless the employment undertaken by the employee for the Government constitutes a “continuous contract”. No gratuity will be granted at the end of the contract period.
