The Job Shadowing Programme (‘the Programme”) is organized by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD). It aims to provide opportunities for local secondary students to learn and deepen their understanding on Environment and Ecology (Environment Branch) (EEB(EB)) and EPD’s works with an aim to cultivating their passion for environment protection, broadening their horizons and preparing them for further studies and future career development in the environmental discipline. The Programme opens the door to a variety of growing environmental sectors and industries in Hong Kong for the students to plan for their future career development.
- To provide students an opportunity to learn more about the careers in the environmental discipline,
- To enhance the personal development of students through interactions with their shadowing mentors and the public, and
- To deepen the students’ understanding of environmental protection and the works of EEB(EB)/EPD.
Local secondary school students (Form 4 to Form 6) with interest and passion in environmental protection are eligible to apply, and interested students must obtain recommendation from their headmaster/deputy headmaster. Each school can nominate 4 students to apply in the same year.
