Construction Noise

Construction Noise Mitigation Measures and Monitoring:

During construction, about 70 dwellings would be adversely affected by noise as the construction programme has been planned for 24 hour working per day. A number of mitigation measures have been implemented in accordance with the EIA, they are:

i. installation of suitable glazing and air-conditioning;
ii. a earth bund to be constructed to +10 mPD along the southern boundary;
iii. the southern tip headland of CLK to act as a natural noise barrier; and
iv. putting noise limits to construction. (see below)

Exemption from the provisions of the Noise Control Ordinance for construction works in connection with the New Airport has been granted but the subject to full compliance with the mitigation measures mentioned in (i) to (iv) above.
