Control on Import and Export of Waste
Enforcement Figures
A total of 48 shipments of hazardous waste were intercepted in 2021 as imported into Hong Kong without prior notification to the EPD. These waste shipments included:
| i) | 20 shipments from Asia; |
| ii) | 10 shipments from North America; |
| iii) | 2 shipments from South America; |
| iv) | 3 shipments from Europe; and |
| v) | 13 shipments from Africa. |
All waste concerned had been returned to the corresponding states of export.
