Enforcement Figures
A total of 29 shipments of hazardous waste were intercepted in 2022 as imported into Hong Kong without prior notification to the EPD. These waste shipments included:
| i) | 5 shipments from Asia; |
| ii) | 11 shipments from North America; |
| iii) | 1 shipment from Central America; |
| iv) | 2 shipments from South America; |
| v) | 4 shipments from Europe; and |
| vi) | 6 shipments from Africa. |
All waste concerned had been returned to the corresponding states of export.
