Enforcement Figures
A total of 45 shipments of hazardous/contaminated waste were intercepted in 2024 as imported into Hong Kong without prior notification to the EPD. These waste shipments included:
| i) | 6 shipments from Asia; |
| ii) | 16 shipments from North America; |
| iii) | 1 shipment from Central America; |
| iv) | 8 shipments from South America; and |
| v) | 14 shipments from Europe |
All waste concerned had been returned to the corresponding states of export.
