EcoPark

Design and Construction

EcoPark occupies 20 hectares of land in Tuen Mun Area 38 and is developed in two phases. The construction of Phase 1 with an area of 8 hectares started in July 2006 and was completed in January 2008. Phase 2 construction started in December 2008 and was completed in March 2010. Upon full operation, EcoPark provides a total of 14 hectares of rentable land to recycling and environmental industries.

The Government provides the following basic physical infrastructure of EcoPark : 

  1. site formation, internal roads, drains and sewers;
  2. water supply, power supply, fire service installations, and other utilities;
  3. refuse collection facilities;
  4. marine loading/unloading areas;
  5. an Administration Building and other buildings/ ancillary facilities for management and recycling operations; and
  6. green features, fencing and landscaping.

EcoPark is divided into lots of different sizes with flexibility to either combine or subdivide lots to suit different needs. These lots are basically leased to the recycling trade through open tender.

Each individual lot will be equipped with the following utilities: 

  1. Sewerage connection points
  2. Fresh water supply
  3. Saltwater supply
  4. Electricity supply - a design maximum of 250kVA per typical lot
  5. Telecommunications - telephone, broadband internet, etc.
