Remarks :

  1. The contract for the WENT Landfill does not specify requirements for water quality monitoring at Tai Shui Hang. If unusual changes in water quality are detected, the EPD will take follow-up actions.
  2. The calculation of Water Quality Index requires the levels of dissolved oxygen, 5-day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) and ammonia-nitrogen. As the dissolved oxygen level has only been measured since October 2020, the water quality monitoring information from 2018 to September 2020 does not include the WQI and river water quality condition.
  3. Due to the adverse weather conditions on 20 May 2019, the sampling work was conducted over two days.
  4. During sampling on 13 June 2022 and 20 June 2023, due to low water levels, the water samples were affected by sediment accumulated at the riverbed near the estuary, leading to an increase in organic matter. This interfered with the measurement of the BOD5, resulting in higher measured values.
