Workshop on Environmentally Friendly Paint Spraying Techniques
To promote environmentally friendly paint spraying technique conducive to reduction in pollution, the Environmental Protection Department, in collaboration with the Automobile Industry Training Centre, the Hong Kong Vehicle Repair Merchants Association, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, organized 10 identical workshops with demonstrations to introduced a series of environmentally friendly paint spraying techniques for practitioners of the vehicle repair workshop trade in February to May 2001. The workshops were well received by the trade with a total of 201 people attended the workshops.
Some paint manufacturers are developing water based paints. Water based paints contain less organic solvents than traditional paints. Water based paints emit less volatile organic solvents during paint spraying. In the 10 workshops held from February to May 2001, the use of water based paints was demonstrated. Vehicle repair trade practitioners at the workshops expressed interest in the use of water based paints. Please cllick here to see the press release.
