Maintenance and Repairing of Engines and Vehicle Exhaust Emission

Maintenance and repairing of engines and machineries

Examples of Air Pollution Control Equipment for VRWs

Use impermeable materials to cover the ground and use collection utensils to avoid contamination of the ground by leaking lubricating oil and other chemicals. In case of leakage, handle it as a chemical waste leakage incident

Use a cleaning agent to remove dust

Do not allow lubricating oil and other chemicals to pollute the ground

Do not use compressed air so as to avoid creating excessive dust

Tuning of engines and vehicles exhaust emission

  • Should be carried out before 7:00 pm to avoid creating noise nuisance

  • Should be carried out indoors to minimize noise nuisance

  • Use pollution control equipment to reduce pollutants in the exhaust gas and direct the treated exhaust gas for release in open space

  • Should not be conducted after 7:00 pm or on public holidays to avoid creating noise nuisance

  • Should not conduct engine tuning in open public places to avoid nuisance caused by exhaust gas and noise

  • Do not allow vehicle exhaust gas to escape uncontrolled, affecting nearby residents

Testing of Engine Exhaust Gas

  • Use "smoke meter", "4-gas analyzer" to check whether vehicle exhaust gas complies with standard so as to reduce air pollutants emitted by vehicles

  • Use pollution control equipment to abate pollutants in the exhaust gas and direct the treated exhaust gas for release in open space
