On 20 April 2011, EPD has co-organized a visit with Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related Trades (HKFORT) for more than 20 representatives from the restaurant trade and related stakeholders to the EPD's Waste Management Facilities in North East New Territories Landfill (including solid waste/sewage treatment facilities, landfill gas treatment facility and etc.) and Town Gas Production Plant in Tai Po. This activity was targeted to raise the environmental awareness of the trade by allowing them to understand more on the operation of municipal solid waste management in Hong Kong and the Town Gas production process.
