ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS)
The benefits of implementing ISO 14001 EMS are, as we can see, as follows:
- We have a tool to systematically identify and evaluate significant environmental aspects of our projects, thus enabling us to control and minimize their impacts.
- It enables us to align our environment policy to be consistent with that of the Government on environmental protection, pollution prevention and efficient use of natural resources.It also provides us with useful means to influence our business partners, such as contractors and consultants, on those aspects.
- It requires us to set out environmental objectives and targets, as well as their regular measurements, hence providing us with evidence for reporting achievements on environmental protection to relevant external parties.
- As its staff become more environmentally conscious, the department has contributed to making Hong Kong a better place to live.
