Air Pollution Control Ordinance

The Air Pollution Control Ordinance (Cap 311) enacted in 1983 is the principal law for managing air quality. It controls aerial emissions of various toxic air pollutants from stationary and mobile sources and allows us to establish administrative procedures and work practices to reduce pollution to the atmosphere. Regulatory schemes are in place to control air pollution and to reduce emissions of unintentionally produced POPs to the atmosphere.

Details of Cap 311 and its subsidiary regulations can be found at the "Hong Kong e-Legislation" website of the Department of Justice.
