Pesticides Ordinance

Pesticides (including those POPs pesticides governed by the Stockholm Convention) are controlled under the Pesticides Ordinance (Cap 133), which is administered by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) under the Food and Health Bureau (FHB).  Cap 133 empowers the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation to maintain a registry of pesticides and regulate their import, manufacture, supply and retail in Hong Kong by a licensing/permit system.

Details of Cap 133 and its subsidiary regulations can be found in the "Hong Kong e-Legislation" website of the Department of Justice. Information on pesticides management and control in Hong Kong can be found at the AFCD's website.
