Kam Tin River : Tai Ling section

There are a total of 8 pig farms at the location, with a total stocking ceiling of about 15,000 heads. With this high population of pigs at one location, the streams are seriously affected by illegal discharges from livestock farms.

Since 2001, there were 6 convictions against the farms in this river section under the Waste Disposal Ordinance and the Waste Disposal (Livestock Waste) Regulations. In the Year 2006, 5 public complaints were received and 56 inspections were conducted to these farms.
