Letter to the Editor of the South China Morning Post dated 21 June 2005 - Response to the letter headlined "Little Recycling"
I write in response to the letter headlined "Little Recycling" on 21 June 2005 from Ms. Jennifer Chong of Braemar Hill regarding the availability of recycling information in the Government's website.
I would like to advise that the "waste" content page of the Environmental Protection Department's homepage with access link http://www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/waste/waste_maincontent.html provides a lot of useful information about waste management in Hong Kong. The sub-pages, "Problems and Solutions", "Data and Statistics" and "Waste Collectors and Recyclers" contain information on the locations of the recycling bins, recycling operators, waste facilities and waste reduction data. Readers are also recommended to make use of the search engine in our website if they would like to look for more specific information. For example, the relevant links will be identified in using keywords such as "bins" or "waste recycling".
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Chong for her interest in the waste problem in Hong Kong and we would be pleased to talk to her direct if she needs any further information.
