Letter to the Editor of SCMP – Response to a report on EcoPark
I refer to the article of 20 February 2010 by Mr Eric Ng, entitled “Clean burning bio-diesel source under our noses - Waste restaurant cooking oil can power cars, help clear air" in which it was stated that a company called Dynamic Progress International has started operating its plant in the government-built waste recycling EcoPark in Tuen Mun in September 2007.
I would like to clarify that Dynamic Progress International does not have any operation in the EcoPark developed by the Government. There are six tenants in Phase 1 of EcoPark, namely Hong Kong Hung Wai Wooden Board Company, Li Tong Group, Champway Technology Ltd, Hong Kong Telford Envirotech Group Limited, Shiu Wing Steel Ltd and Cosmos Star Holdings Company Limited. The Champway Technology Ltd is engaged in the recovery of used cooking oil into biodiesel and its full operation is expected to start in April 2010.
