Public Sewerage for Shui Chuen O gazetted

A proposal to build a public sewerage system to serve the housing developments in Sha Tin Planning Areas 34 and 52 in Shui Chuen O, south to Pok Hong Estate, was published in the Government Gazette today (June 7).

A spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) said: "Under the proposal, about 3 000 metres of sewers will be built along two new roads in Areas 34 and 52, Shui Chuen Au Street, Sha Kok Street, Sha Tin Wai Road, and two roads in Pok Hong Estate and Sha Kok Estate.

"The sewers will be connected with the existing sewer in Tai Chung Kiu Road."

The project, to be carried out by the Territory Development Department, is scheduled to start in March 2003 for completion in February 2005.

Details of the proposal, in both English and Chinese, have been posted on the notice boards near the site of the proposed sewerage works for public inspection.

Copies of the plans and the scheme showing the works area and the proposed sewerage works are available for inspection at the following locations:

1) Public Enquiry Service Centre, Central and Western District Office, Ground Floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central;

2) EPD Headquarters, 28th Floor, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai;

3) Local Control Office (Territory North) of the EPD, 10th Floor, Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road, Sha Tin;

4) District Lands Office, 11th Floor, Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road, Sha Tin;

5) Public Enquiry Service Centre, Sha Tin District Office, Ground Floor, Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road, Sha Tin;

6) Land Registry, 19th Floor, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong; and

7) Sha Tin New Territories Land Registry, Room 901, 9th Floor, Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road, Sha Tin.

Any person who considers that he is affected by the works and wishes to raise objection to the above proposal is required to send a submission in writing to the Director of Environmental Protection not later than August 6, 2002.
